Nice time...

Haha I love that the neighbors take me in  like . stray dog.   I was lonely today and got to spend some time with the best neighbors anyone could ask for.  I am sure we don't agree on some things but the best thing is...that is OK, they have great kids and are animal lovers....they can teach me things about gardening and I am happy to help them with their puppy!!!  It's not all about more it's about .... together...

Hmm as they get older

I know that as our kids get older they have their own lives.  I am perplexed at how my mother kept everyone in line  and doing what she wanted year after year.  - I have no idea how she did it, I don't recall feeling terribly put out, or that my life was out of my own control, I apparently loved that she kept tradition within control and therefore within reach.  I am sad that the magic she knew was not passed on to me, as I don't think my kids have the same memories of xmas as I did....and it's not just christmas...it's all holidays..I'm sad... please be sure to not only pass on your traditions, but how you keep tradition and love alive!! .

Great Big Life Journey

Hah, I think I do this every year...start my blog up again.   Maybe this time I'll stick to it.  So many things to reflect on this Christmas Eve day. A granddaughter who is 1, a son who is a senior in high school, a daughter who is a fantastic mother, a husband who is my best friend, a rental clan that are a light in life. So as I begin this again, I write this for me, I am not here to offend anyone, get on a soap box or make any big shift in the world....just my view of my life and what my untrained, uninformed self sees as I look out into the world. I figure I should perfect my small area of the world before I start getting an opinion about bigger isseues. So here is my attempt at honesty and what I go through....this should be funny and fun and lighthearted.  I write all of this to remind myself....so we shall see where this brings me going forward. Merry Christmas!!

Bringing everyone in on it..

Okay so I think I have finally convinced the boys that we need to start small and work towards small goals.  Today we had a family meeting and decided on a few things that we will do to improve next week. We each chose a exercise and nutrition goal to achieve for the next two weeks.  Then we each chose a goal we would like for each other as well.  We will see how it goes.  Here is a look at the first two weeks goals: RJ Jeff for RJ – Bathe daily, Brush Teeth Daily Kris for RJ - RJ to have breakfast each day.   Mom to make protein shake each night so he can take with in the AM to help him eat less at lunch. Nutrition – Each day for lunch have just a sandwich or side..if you need more have fruit/pudding cup. Exercise – walk onyx 3 days per week     Kris Exercise - 21 Day Boot Camp Nutrition - Meatless Mondays – Dinner together 2 days per week. Jeff Goal for me - One glass of wine not a bottle of wine. RJ – Make his...

Movin' Along

Okay about a week in to the new year...not bad, have had a smoothie every morning and am enjoying my new routine.  I get up drink some water, small workout, get ready for work, make smoothie, prep lunch get ready to go to work and off I go.  The day goes really well now that I am not flying out of the house to be to work early, which I don't need to do.  I get to work by 8:30, that's the goal...I don't have to leave the house until 7:30 and I will make it with plenty of time to spare. Work is going smoothly now that I am not running all over the place like a chicken with my head cut off...notice the theme here, "running"?   I have stopped rushing, I'm doing things with purpose which is really helping.  I purposefully start my day and go through it.  It feels fabulous and it seems to mean more....like I'm living my life not just in it. Weekends are the hardest....no structure.  But let's see what the day brings, I have errands I want to run and...

Ahhh that felt good...

There is something about arranging and rearranging your home.  I have arranged the kitchen better and cleaned and rearranged the 3rd bedroom and arranged my desk and office area, I cleaned my closet out (sort of) and went through a ton of stuff I had laying around.  It just feels good, I usually do it twice a year...I don't remember doing it earlier in 2015 so things were really a disaster. It feels good to start fresh, even at work I am starting fresh, had my review had some hiccups but fell better about the support that I will get from my boss when it comes to my work load.  I work for him no everyone else, if is nice to finally feel like he will back me up on that so I can concentrate on what is important. Happy New Year....bring it 2016!!

So ... It's 2016

Well the new year is over, I am not a fan of amateur night so I was cuddled up in bed with my hubby by 10 watching the festivities on TV!    I have found that I like a smoothie in the morning as a meal replacement.   I haven't lost any weight because I am so boated when I get home all I do is eat.  That will be the thing to figure out....fending off boredom.   What to do though?  I think the first thing is to stop my belief that when I come home there is no point in doing anything.  I'll start small with something maybe I enjoy vs cleaning the house....
